Grandview Speedway Announces Busy Racing Schedule for 2014

BECHTELSVILLE, PA — One of the busiest schedules of racing events in a number of years has been announced for NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway. The one-third-mile, banked clay track, considered one of the most successful weekly short tracks in the nation, will offer more than 40 auto racing events during the 2014 season. The 2014 season will mark the 52nd anniversary season of stock car racing at the Berks County auto racing facility.

Action will kick off with the traditional free-to-the-public practice session, open to all forms of competition, set for Saturday, March 29th at noon. This is also the opportunity for 2014 season pass holders to choose their reserved seat for the new season.

Officially, racing action will get the green flag on Saturday, April 5, 7 p.m. with an exciting tripleheader show of NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman racing being offered. These will be the first point events of the season.

The first of nine scheduled Enduro events will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 6th.

NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be featured in the first special event of the season when they complete in twin 20-lap features on Saturday, April 12th at 7 p.m. The Late Models and Sportsman will run in their regular 25 lap features. Qualifying events will be presented for all divisions.

The first of four Open Wheel Spectaculars will be presented on Sunday, May 4th, 7:30 p.m. and will feature the TSRS 305 sprints along with the American Racing Drivers Club wingless midgets.

Seven features will make up the Sunday, May 25th Thunder on the Hill Racing Series season opener. Included in the action packed show will be two URC sprint car features, two 358 modified features along with feature races for the ARDC midgets, sportsman and legends cars. This event will have a 7:30 p.m. starting time. This is the first of five Thunder on the Hill events that are co-promoted by Bob Miller and Bruce Rogers.

The first of two huge events for the 358 Modifieds happens on Saturday, August 9th when the annual Forrest Rogers Memorial 50-lap Classic is presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. The Late Models and Sportsman will also be part of the night of stock car racing action.

The Late Models will be featured in their annual Firecracker 40 on July 5th along with a great Fireworks show. Modifieds and Sportsman will also be part of the special night.

And on Saturday, September 13th the 44th annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic, paying $25,000 to win, will take place. For the first time there will be racing action the night before, Friday, September 12, when Race of Champions Sportsman and ARDC midgets will be featured.

Season passes, that include admission to all Saturday night racing events, April through September, are available for just $350. They may be purchased at the March 29th practice day or by sending a check in the amount of $350 payable to Grandview Speedway to 87 Wilt Road, Bechtelsville, PA 19505.
