Jeff Jolly Returning Full-Time to Stafford’s Dare Stock Division for 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Season

Stafford Springs, CT — After recording 9 feature victories in Stafford’s DARE Stock division and a second place finish in the 2010 points standings, Wallingford native Jeff Jolly has decided to make a full-time return to SMS for the 2014 season. Jolly made one start in the DARE Stock division during the 2013 season filling in for Kyle Casagrande, and that moonlight start was enough to get the competitive juices flowing again. Jolly purchased what was formerly Josh Wood’s DARE Stock chassis, Casagrande Motorsports will maintain his car with the chassis setup from Bob Fill and the power by R.A.D. Automachine.

“I bought Josh Wood’s old #51 DARE Stock that became a Limited Late Model,” said Jolly. “I dropped the car off at Bob Fill to change it back over to a DARE Stock car and R.A.D. is going to do the motor. Rick and Cory Casagrande are going to maintain the car during the week and get the car to the track for me, and I have my longtime crew chief Tim D’Amico coming back to help me out so between BFR, R.A.D., Rick and Cory, and Tim, I don’t have any excuses if the car doesn’t run well.”

Stafford Speedway debuted a crate engine rule for the DARE Stock division for the 2013 season and Jolly will join the list of competitors utilizing the crate engine combination as he has his sights set on moving up the ladder in the future at SMS.

“We’re going to go with the crate motor because next year it will be easier for me to move up to the Limited Late Model division,” said Jolly. “With the crate motor, it’s the same motor as the Limited crate motor with only a few changes to make, so it’s more advantageous from a cost perspective for me.”

As Jolly and his Casagrande Motorsports crew are busy preparing their car for the 2014 season, Jolly’s main goal is to have fun during the season while also challenging for the track championship.

“Obviously we want to win races and be a contender for the championship, but the key thing is to have a good time and have fun,” said Jolly. “We were talking about that when I went to pick up the car. We thought this is going to be great, we have a good team and we have a good piece, but it all comes back to having fun. I’d liken my goals to something Jeff Gordon did in the late ’90’s. They had a checklist that started with winning races, then win a championship, and then become a dynasty. My goals are going to start with having fun and winning a race or two and then the championship would be the last box to check off on the list for the season. I’ve always seemed to be a wreckers or checkers type of racer in the past and this season we want to eliminate some of the wreckers part and be a little more consistent.”

“I have some great support from Ameriprise Financial, North Haven Animal Hospital, Casagrande Builders, and Casagrande Motorsports, but I’m also searching for any new sponsors that may want to join a team,” said Jolly.

Jolly will make his return to the DARE Stock ranks during the 43rd Annual Spring Sizzler on April 25-27, 2014. For more information, contact the Stafford Motor Speedway track office at 860-684-2783 or visit us on the web at www.staffordspeedway.com.
