Battle of Trenton-with Racers, Not Soldiers-to Feature Three Quarter Midgets, Champ Karts, Slingshot Racing inside Sun National Bank Center; New Egypt Modified Champion Billy Pauch Sr., Pavement Star Blewett Among Favorites

TRENTON, NJ — On December 25, 1776, Revolutionary War hero George Washington crossed the Delaware River with his garrison of troops to attack the British defenders encamped in Trenton.

Washington’s successful conquest of the British loyalists at the Battle Of Trenton turned the tide of history. From the outcome of this battle, independence was declared and the United States of America was created.

A second Battle Of Trenton, this one to be fought with race cars rather than muskets, and piloted by drivers arguably as brave as Washington’s men, will be waged on Friday, Feb. 7; and Saturday, Feb.8.

The Friday card will consist of Twin 20 lap features for TQ Midgets and a full program of Slingshot action.

On Feb. 8, another complete program for TQ Midgets is supported by a Champ Karts schedule of events.

Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J., a winner of more than 700 feature races in his career, is always among the TQ favorites. Pauch is the 2013 New Egypt Speedway Modified Stock Car driving champion.

Jimmy Blewett of Howell, N.J., whose shift from asphalt Modified to dirt Modified racing in 2013 was among the year’s biggest racing stories, is also a popular entry.

Anthony Sesely of Matawan, N.J., winner of Wall Stadium’s Turkey Derby in 2013 and several TQ Midget outdoor races last summer, is also expected to figure prominently in the two days of racing.

Pauch, Blewett and Sesely are among the five dozen TQ drivers and teams that have entered the PRC Industries/Angela’s House Charity Battle Of Trenton.

The identically prepared Slingshots and the ultra-quick Champ Karts, each with over 30 entries, will support the TQ Midget programs on Friday and Saturday respectively.

PRC Industries/Angela’s House Charity has come aboard to sponsor the first Battle Of Trenton Indoor races.
