Duane Noll Honored at New England Truck Series Banquet

NETS2014championsDuane Noll was crowned as the 2013 series champion this past Saturday night at the New England Truck Series Award Banquet held at the Imperial Room in Danielson, Connecticut.

Trophies were presented by host Harold Burdick and series director Lorraine Pard to the top six finishers in the New England Truck Series final points standings. Brad Caddick took home the sixth place trophy in the Caddick Motorsports #44, bidding adieu to NETS as he moves on to a Modified in 2014. Tony Lafo earned fifth place in the Cindy Burdick Motorsports #151, a ride that will be driven by Burt Ouelette in 2014. Pete Cayer finished 4th in the Blitz Black Motorsports #5, which will become the #69 truck in 2014. Longtime NETS competitor Chris Correll earned a podium finish in the #7 Hooters of America machine. Glen Noll brought his #72 Green Knolls Landscaping Chevrolet home in the runner up position in only his second year of competition. And 2013 Champion Duane Noll, driver of the Sparkling Angels Cleaning Service #2 accepted his second consecutive championship.

The 2013 Rookie of the Year award was presented to Pete Cayer by ROTY sponsor Cindy Burdick. DJ McGouran was presented the Most Improved Driver award, and Cindy Burdick Motorsports was given the Best Appearing Team award. The Sportsman of the Year award was accepted by Glen Noll while the Speedway One Hard Luck award went to Brad Caddick. Former driver Mike Carrigg presented the Racingjunk.com Hard Charger Award to Chris Correll.

A Special Appreciation award was presented to Matt Buckler on behalf of the New England Truck Series. Other “Thank You” plaques were presented to the series sponsors, officials, and other individuals who contributed to the success of the season.

The night was not just about the action on the track, but also an evening of fun with Burdick and Pard taking time to roast members of the NETS family with a series of “special awards” such as “Best Appearing Owner,” “Truck Most Likely to Spring a Leak,” “Driver with the Best Hat” and “Driver Least Likely to Get Their Hands Dirty.”
