DJ Shaw Darts to Fourth in Southern Maine Motors 150

Scarborough, ME – After opening the Pro All Stars Series North season up last weekend with a third place finish, DJ Shaw and the #60 Precision JLM Racing team fought hard for a fourth place effort on Saturday in the second race of the season. Shaw ran in the top ten throughout most of “The Southern Maine Motors 150” at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, but long green flag runs made track position crucial as Shaw fought into the top five late in the race. In the end, Shaw was satisfied with his day.

“We got stuck in traffic for a little bit of this race and the long green flag runs made it hard to pass today with everyone getting strung out early,” Shaw said after the race, “We still had another good car and I’ll take two top fives to start the season, we fought hard with a lot of great drivers today and the competition is really tight every week.”

Starting from the 15th position in the 150 lap feature event, Shaw wasted no time on his way to the front, as he cracked the top ten after just a handful of laps, and continued to pick off spots throughout the race. As the field got strung out, Shaw stalled in the seventh spot riding to save his equipment. The first caution of the event didn’t fly until 101 laps in, with Shaw sitting in the seventh position. After going through two restarts to finish off the race, Shaw had to be smooth and patient to gain track position and in the end got around the 54 of Johnny Clark and the 84 of Scott Mulkern to cross the finish line in the fourth position.

After two races, DJ Shaw sits second in the PASS North point’s standings behind Travis Benjamin. There is still plenty of racing left to go however, as the PASS North Series will be back in action next weekend at Star Speedway! Expect to see a wild and exciting race on the tight ¼ mile bullring with a packed field of the best Super Late Model drivers in the country. Racing is set to kick off at 4:45pm, come show your support for DJ Shaw and the Precision JLM Racing team!
