Oxford 250 Weekend Exploding with Awesome Racing Events
OXFORD, ME — Even though the 41st Annual Oxford 250 is almost two months away, race fans are already getting anxious for the Northeast’s most prestigious summer racing event scheduled for Friday through Sunday, July 18th through July 20th.
“It appears that this year’s edition of the Oxford 250 has really caught the attention of race fans from as far away and North Carolina to Canada, and throughout the Northeastern part of the United States, expressed OPS General Manager, Dick Therrien. Reserved general admission ticket sales are at an all time high right now, and we are processing new ticket orders on a daily basis. We have a solid mix of pre-registered drivers as many Southern teams, and Canadian teams have entered, and are looking to enter this major event. Teams have been calling with tech questions from as far away as Ohio, and a couple of teams from Washington State are showing interest for this year’s race. 2013 winner Travis Benjamin states he is working extremely hard to get his equipment ready for a run at back to back wins, and of course who can count out the 2013 PASS North champ, Cassius Clark as he tries to get his luck turned around by winning this mega event. With over forty teams already pre-registered, Oxford Plains Speedway is the place to be on Oxford 250 weekend.”
The weekend will kick off with a bang as the PASS Mods and PASS Sportsman open the weekend of racing on Friday night, as The Sun Journal newspaper sponsors the night’s activities. Joining the two PASS Tour divisions will be Street Stocks, Outlaws, Sport Trucks, Ladies, Runnin’ Rebels and Cruisers. Racing kicks off at 7:30pm. Dunkin’ Donuts highlights Saturday nights activities as The NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites are on the card plus Round #2 of the PASS Northeast Late Model Series, paying $4,000 to win and a guaranteed starting spot in Sundays Oxford 250 is on the line. Also in action will be the Northeast Classic Lites, the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association, Outlaw Sportsman and Street Stocks. Post time for this show is 6pm. The biggest event of the season goes green on Sunday afternoon, July 20th, at 2pm; the 41st Annual Oxford 250 for Super Late Models will wrap up this super weekend of racing.
