Dowling to Drive Tremont Modified at Lebanon Valley

Chase Dowling of Roxbury, CT will make his dirt Modified debut Saturday night at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, NY. Dowling will drive the Tremont Racing #115x in the  $3,000 to win Maynard Forrette Modified Memorial Race.

S&S Asphalt Paving, a mutual sponsor of Dowling and Tremont, supported Dowling driving the car. “(He) has some talent and has a lot of history to him,” Dowling said of Tremont, a 13-time Lebanon Valley Big Block Modified champion. “Just an experience in itself to learn from him.”

“I been going up there for a while and watching since I was little and racing Go Karts,” Dowling said. “(I) never thought I would have a chance to race there and was shocked when the owner of S&S and the Tremont Racing Team told me I was going to race this year.”

“The dirt Modified are a whole different animal,” Dowling said. “A lot more motor and the suspension is way different. Everything is different. I raced dirt Go Karts and dirt USAC but nothing comparable to a dirt Modified. Just going to go out there (to) have a good time and be grateful of the experience I’m getting and hopefully get some results along the way.”

A Stafford Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year candidate, Dowling is currently eighth in SK Modified®  points after two events with a best finish of third at the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler.

“We definitely came out with a bang, had a top three at Spring Sizzler and then ran into a distributor problem the second race,” Dowling said. “But overall really happy with the whole crew, car, all the sponsors, and everyone that is a part of this organization. I couldn’t be happier where I am right now and very thankful to all of the people believing in me. We just started, and have a lot more to prove.”

The next race on Dowling’s schedule will be Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway for TSI Harley-Davidson 125 night. The #57 SK Modified® team is sponsored by S&S Asphalt Paving, Dunleavy Truck and Trailer, and All About You Homecare.
