OXFORD ACCELERATION SERIES KICKS OFF WEDNESDAY 6-11
The Oxford Acceleration Series kicks off this coming Wednesday night, June 11th at 7pm. In action will be the Runnin’ Rebels, Outlaws, Sport Trucks, Ladies and the all new six cylinder Cruiser division. This is a great way to break into the sport of auto racing at Oxford Plains Speedway.

June will be a giant month for racing at OPS. Make sure you check out the schedule of events!
PASS NORTHEAST LATE MODEL SERIES TO DEBUT ON JUNE 13TH
The brand new PASS Northeast Late Model Series will be opening up on Friday night June 13th at 7:30pm. A good field of cars will be on hand for this giant event. Post time is 7:30pm, and Applebee’s will be sponsoring the night’s activities. Stay tuned here as we will be announcing a big new sponsor for the three Series events.
NAPA SHOW, SHINE & DRAG EXPLODING WITH EXCITEMENT
The NAPA Show, Shine & Drag event is scheduled for Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15th, starting at 9am. Vintage vehicles as well as muscle cars, hot rods, motorcycles, drag racing, one lunger engines, and a whole lot more is on this year’s schedule. OPS has also added a chicken and ribs BBQ, plus a beer garden and music to give everyone a full day of activities. Admission is just $5, and the event will be held rain or shine!
BENTLEY WARREN ISMA CLASSIC SET FOR JUNE 20TH
Another highlight event for the 2014 season is the Locke Crane Services, Bentley Warren ISMA Super Modified Classic scheduled for Friday night, June 20th at 7:30pm. It has been a few years since the Super Modifieds have raced at OPS and they will put on an awesome show. They will be racing for the coveted Coastal 181 Cup that will go to the winner of the event. Bentley Warren himself will be the honorary Grand Marshall for the show. Also on the card will be The Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, Outlaw Sportsman and Bandito’s. $10 off discount coupons can be found at many stores throughout the area. OXFORD 250 & MONSTER TRUCK THROWDOWN ADVANCED TICKETS GOING FAST
The 2014 editions of the Oxford 250 and the Monster Truck Throwdown advanced ticket sales are way surpassing the amounts sold in 2013. Interest is at an all time high for these two mega-events, and people are calling daily to get good reserved seats. BUDWEISER PRO LATE MODELS NUMBERS ARE GREAT!
The number of competitors that have been racing in the Pro Late Model class have been some of the biggest seen here at OPS in many years. Opening day saw twenty-nine cars while each of the rest of the events has been in the thirties. Last week took a toll on some teams, and a couple of them may not be ready for this week’s show, but hopefully most will be in attendance. Three races have produced three different winners. TJ Brackett, Trevor Sanborn and Quinney Welch have all carried the checkers, while TJ Brackett also is on top of the point standings.
STREET STOCKS & OUTLAWS ARE SOME EXCITING!
If you haven’t been to a Friday night Budweiser, OCS event, you are missing out on some great racing entertainment. The Street Stocks and Outlaws are incredible. They have been racing three and four wide not only in the features but also the qualifying heats. Highly exciting!!
THE NEW BANDITO’S ARE IN TOWN
The all new four cylinder Bandito’s had their first race last week and it was a good one. Ten cars entered the inaugural event won by Jamie Heath. This novice class is just plain fun. Want to go racing? You can get one of these rigs on the track for less than $500.
HOW DO THE POINTS WORK?
Many people have been asking how the point system works. Here you! Heats are worth 5-4-3-2-1, and only the top five cars in the heats get any points. Feature points are 60-58-56-54-52-50 with a two point graduation through the field. Everyone receives a minimum of 2 points.
