NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k Postponed to Friday, July 25th

STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT — The Inaugural NAPA SK 5k has been postponed to Friday July 25th due to the impending threat of Hurricane Arthur. The SK 5k, dubbed the biggest race in SK Modified history, will take place in three weeks on July 25th under what will hopefully be beautiful clear skies.

Fan voting will remain open for the race format until the day of the event. Fans are reminded to vote each day at www.staffordspeedway.com by selecting the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k logo on the home page. Currently voting in multiple categories is very close which means fans will truly have a chance to let their voice be heard in regards to race format.

July 25th also provides opportunities for drivers who compete in the regional touring series to attend. There are no conflicts with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour or with the Valenti Modified Racing Series on July 25th which will assure that the top competitors from the region will be in attendance. Currently the SK Modified division at Stafford is home to the top Modified drivers in the Northeast which provides for incredible weekly racing. Last week at Stafford Ted Christopher and Ryan Preece swapped the lead 7 times in the last 15 laps in an epic duel that saw Christopher, the veteran, prevail.

The NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k on July 25th will pay $5,000 to the winner, has a purse of over $27,000 for the feature event, and a $2,000 purse for qualifying races. With high stakes on the line and a stacked Stafford SK Modified division the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k will certainly be a race you will not want to miss. Get your tickets today online at www.staffordspeedway.com, over the phone by calling the Stafford Speedway box office at (860)-684-2783, or by stopping by the track office located at 55 West Steet, Stafford Springs CT.
