Sprints & Midgets in Open Wheel Spectacular at Grandview July 20

BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 14, 2014 — On Sunday, July 20th, Grandview Speedway will be host to the second Open Wheel Spectacular of the season as the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver (TSRS) 305 Winged Sprint Cars join forces with the wingless midgets of the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC).

Open wheel fans are sure to enjoy the diverse style of these two organizations.  The winged TSRS Sprint Cars provide close competition during their qualifying events and twenty-five lap feature event.  The wingless ARDC midgets are known for their “three wide and side by side” style of racing and there is sure to be plenty of that when the midgets take to the high banks of the Grandview Speedway.

Fans did not go away disappointed following the first Open Wheel Spectacular last month. Many longtime fans could relate to successful Sunday night doubleheaders that featured Sprints and Midgets at Grandview some years back.

Adam Carberry was the winner of the June Spectacular and added his name to the list of TSRS feature winners this season that includes two time champion, Mike Haggenbottom, Karl Freyer, Kyle Reinhardt and Dave Brown.  In only their third Grandview appearance, there are plenty of TSRS competitors who would be honored to take home a win from the Grandview Speedway, including Tim Tanner and Tom Carberry Jr. who finished second and third in the June event.

Steve Buckwalter picked up his second ARDC win of the season during the June event, taking the win over Alex Bright and Grandview Modified regular, Tim Buckwalter.  Bright has since added another win to his May victory at Grandview and joins Buckwalter and current ARDC point leader, Steven Drevicki who each have two wins so far this season.  PJ Gargiulo and Tim Buckwalter each have one win in 2014. The ARDC midgets continue their 75th anniversary celebration of presenting exciting midget auto racing action.

Adult admission for the Sunday, July 20th event is a low $15 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5. Kids under 6 are admitted free. And there is always free parking on the speedway grounds.

Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting under way promptly at 7:30pm.  Fans are invited to the pre-race Meet & Greet, hosted by the internet radio hosts of the Low, Down & Dirty radio broadcast.  And when the racing action is completed everyone is invited to visit with the racers in the pit area.

Grandview Speedway is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at www.grandviewspeedway.com.
