Seekonk: Wakefield Back in Sport Truck, Driving Late Model

Joey Wakefield of Taunton, MA will return to the Sport Trucks this week at Seekonk Speedway,
” just to make sure everything is back where it was.” His No. 10 truck is currently for sale.

Wakefield took part in building a Late Model last winter. He purchased the car in March and Branden Dion has driven the No. 04 car this season.

Instead of waiting for next season to drive the car, Wakefield will race the car twice this year in order to retain his rookie status. Wakefield’s goals are to get a top 10 finish in Sport Trucks and gain experience in the Late Models.

“It’s been an exciting season, (a) little frustrating at times,” Wakefield said. I have learned a lot this year.”

East Coast Motorsports, Paul’s Custom Exhaust and Sousa Construction provide sponsorship for Wakefield. He, Scott and Branden Dion work on the team.

Wakefield is not committed to racing next season, with his two children getting a start in either Champ Karts or Quarter Midgets.
