Shawn Sicard Tabbed at OTB Promotions as Communications Point Man

Touring Series Media Director & Announcer Joins New Venture

No. Stonington, CT – OTB Promotions, a pioneering company in the field of motorsports promotion, has announced that Shawn Sicard is its new Director, Communications, effective immediately.

“I am excited to join Josh and Lou in this exciting venture,” Sicard exclaimed.  “Spending time on both sides of motorsports, management and behind the wheel, I have listened, and learned, what drivers, fans, and the racing community needs and wants.  I am anxious to bring my ideas to life.”

Sicard joins the start-up venture founded by long-time road racer, Lou Gingerella, and motorsports promoter, Josh Vanada, with experience at the short track and touring levels. Sicard began his career as Speedway 51’s (formerly Riverside Speedway) announcer. While there, Sicard developed a reputation as an extremely dedicated individual to the race teams, facility, and to the sport. Following a 2 year stay at Speedway 51, Sicard was appointed the Granite State Pro Stock Series’ Media Director and Lead Announcer in 2014. Sicard quickly demonstrated his creativity, launching innovative fan contests and significantly increased driver engagement with the fans.

“We are glad to welcome Shawn to our team. He and I have worked together on other projects, and he has proven himself to be incredibly passionate and loyal about his craft,” states OTB Promotions Executive Vice President Josh Vanada.

Sicard will act as the voice of OTB Promotions, crafting its message calendar and raising brand awareness.  The Northfield, Vermont-native will also be responsible for writing and distributing press releases, managing the company’s social media platforms, supporting media at events, and serve as an advisor on the leadership team.  Sicard’s advisory role will be specifically in the areas of competitor and media support, as well as new event concepts.  Sicard will report to OTB’s Executive Vice President, Josh Vanada.

“His approach is innovative, and he thinks outside the box, which is very important to us. We are proud to have him handling our communications, and look forward to the ways that he will enhance our brand and promote our product,” Vanada concluded.
