Ryan Lutz Ready For 2015 Season In Legends

Ryan Lutz will kick off his 2015 season this Saturday in the Legends division at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Lutz is planning to run a part time schedule at the Speedbowl as well as Riverhead Raceway in New York and may even try Stafford Motor Speedway once or twice.

Lutz is very happy with the new ownership of the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Bruce Bemer purchased the track at an auction last October for 1.75 Million Dollars. ” I am very happy they opened. Everyone at the Speedbowl are such nice people. They all mean well. I love going there. I love how its a two lane race track and you can just throw it on the outside and ride. That’s what I love the most.” Lutz Said

Mike Christopher, JR dominated the Legends division at the Speedbowl last season with 25 wins. Christopher, JR moved up to the SK Modified division at Stafford. ” He had a pretty stout year to say the least. He’s a good kid. The whole Christopher family is awesome. It was obviously tough running against him because he’s always on top of his stuff and he is fast week in and week out.”

This season at the Speedbowl. Lutz is looking forward to racing with Cory and Dana DiMatteo as he feels they will be tough to beat as well as Joey Turnello. Lutz feels that Cassandra Cole could be a contender as she was a rookie last season in the Legends. He is also looking forward to racing with Kurt Krieger at Riverhead. ” He’s really a good kid. He comes from a wonderful family. He always runs me clean and me and him are really close friends and I think we will have success in the future.”
Lutz had a good season in 2014. It started off rough for him by losing an engine in the third race of the season. The team never gave up as they tried different things with the car and learned what car did to this and that and built on their notes every week. By the second half of the season, Lutz was in the top 5 every week. It kept the confidence up for the team. The final race of the season was like a win for Lutz as he would finish second. ” We finished 2nd which was a huge point that we prove we could hang with the top drivers at the Bowl. My dad, brother, and the Izzo family made that happened. We could communicate about the car well which I was feel was the secret to our success.”
Lutz’s goals for the season is to get a win at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl as he feels he has a very good opportunity to do that. Another goal for him is to get a top 5 at Riverhead and to run in the Legends division at the Turkey Derby at Wall Stadium on Thanksgiving Weekend.
Riverhead Raceway and the New London-Waterford Speedbowl will both kick off their 2015 season this Saturday.
