World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown Rapidly Approaching at DCRP
DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 4, 2015) – It’s only a month away. Less than 30 days from now the best Sprint Car drivers in the world will battle it out atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval at the annual “Boothill Showdown” on July 3-4.
And, as the event draws closer, the number of available tickets dwindles away on a daily basis. Advance tickets are available online at https://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=160. Those purchasing a two-day package will receive a free fan pit pass.
Owasso, OK, native Daryn Pittman has found the Dodge City oval to his liking in recent times, topping three of the last four features in the Wild West town and sweeping through both nights last year aboard the Kasey Kahne Racing entry.
Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws series champion, is currently seventh in points with three wins to his credit after suffering a broken collarbone early in the season.
The only driver other than Pittman to snare a WoO win at DCRP over the past two seasons is current points leader and reigning champion Donny Schatz, who split 2013 DCRP victory honors with Pittman.
Tony Stewart Racing rep Schatz has been on fire through the early portion of the season, reeling off 11 wins to open up a 139-point advantage over Shane Stewart with Kerry Madsen, Brad Sweet and Paul McMahan also among the current top five.
Other top WoO contenders include Joey Saldana, David Gravel, Jason Sides, Kraig Kinser, Logan Schuchart and Joey Allen with Sammy Swindell currently filling for an injured Jason Johnson.
While Pittman has four career World of Outlaws wins at DCRP, Joey Saldana is one better with five career wins at Dodge City although it has been since June of 2010 since Saldana last reached victory lane at the southwest Kansas track. Saldana captured his first series win of the year on Wednesday night to become the 13th different WoO winner of the year.
Both nights of the World of Outlaws “Boothill Showdown” will also include the Colorado Lightning Sprints and IMCA Sport Modifieds.
Along with the World of Outlaws “Boothill Showdown”, the 2015 slate of events at Dodge City Raceway Park includes 15 nights of competition with a number of special events along the way. The track’s full slate of events is available at http://www.dodgecityraceway.com/schedule/.
Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south. For more information, contact the track at 620-225-3277 or check www.dodgecityraceway.com.
