Derek Robbie and DDR Motorsports introduce Track day for Vets

Bellingham, MA, Sunday, February 14, 2016 – As a result of a continued support from a longtime backer of Derek Robbie’s racing, the team has created a new program where at many of the races the team participates in they will host a US veteran from the area. The idea is to say thanks to and give a service man or woman the experience of New England Short track racing. With Robbie and the team running at various tracks in New England this year, it allows for the team to say thanks in many areas around the region.
“We’re doing this program because I want to let them know what they did for our country I’m very thankful for, I really am”, says Robbie.

The team has enlisted the assistance of retired Lieutenant Colonel James Williams, a 30-year armed forces veteran to lead the program. Jim has been a supporter of Robbie’s racing for several years and the teams has great respect for his extended service to our country. Jim’s responsibilities will be focused on coordinating with a local veterans group near the tracks for a veteran whom would like to attend an event. The team cannot express how thankful they are for his willingness to join the team in this role.

Also joining in the program is the team’s marketing partner, New Hampshire Oil Undercoating. They will supply one free vehicle undercoating for the veteran as their way of saying thanks for their service. Derek Robbie and DDR Motorsports are very appreciative of their continued support as well.

As part of the program, the team will host a veteran and their companion at a race and the team will:
• provide them with pit passes to the race
• give them each team Apparel (t-shirt, etc.)
• supply them with a meal and drinks during the day
• make them honorary crew members for the day
• a gift certificate for a free vehicle undercoating from team marketing partner, New Hampshire Oil Undercoating
• have the track announcer recognize the veteran for his service by announcing he/she is our guest for the day.

Robbie and the team would like to say thanks to Jim Williams and NH Oil Undercoating along with all of his partners for being so valuable and they could not do it without them. Derek reminds all if you or anyone else would like to help with this program or any other aspect of our race team, please feel to reach out to me and we’ll be glad to work something out.

Derek Robbie would like to thank his family and friends and all of his loyal partners for their continued support as he builds towards 2016. They include Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, Marshall’s Jewelers, with locations in Bellingham, MA and Milford, MA, Shibles Family Mattress in Belmont, NH, Bellingham Parts Plus of Bellingham, MA, RH Landscaping of Winchendon, MA, Cliff Nelson Motorsports, and RH2way Racing Communications of Riverside, NJ.
