Harrison Burton Looking Forward to NASCAR 150 K&N Pro Series East Event at Stafford Motor Speedway

Stafford Springs, CT — When the K&N Pro Series East teams come to Stafford on Friday, June 17 for the NASCAR 150, HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks driver Harrison Burton will be looking to add his name to the 2016 winners list alongside his teammates Justin Hayley and Tyler Dippel. Burton currently pilots the #12 DEX Imaging/Konica-Minolta Toyota and he is currently 8th in the points standings after the first 3 races of the season.

“I’m excited to try out a new track like Stafford,” said Burton. “It’s always interesting to see what a new race track has to offer and I’m sure based on what I’ve heard, the racing will be fantastic.”

After the first three races of the 2016 K&N Pro Series East season, HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks has been the team to beat with Tyler Dippel and Justin Hayley having both picked up their first career wins this season. Hayley and Dippel sit third and fourth respectively in the K&N Pro Series East points standings on the strength of their early-season victories, and the HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks team also has Burton in 8th and Hunter Baize in 13th place after the first three races.

Burton is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeff Burton and he has amassed quite a racing resume despite not turning 16 years of age until October. Burton made his NASCAR K&N Series debut last October at All-American Speedway and in the process became the youngest driver to race in the series at 15 years, 8 days old. Burton has had an extensive racing background in late model cars over the past several seasons. He earned his first Late Model pole position when he was just 11 years old and he won his first Pro-Late Model race at age 12. Burton collected his first Super Late Model win at age 14 and he was a three-time Quarter Midget Champion prior to his Late Model experience. Burton is currently competing for NASCAR K&N Pro Series Rookie of the Year honors next season.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series,” said Stafford COO/GM Mark Arute. “The K&N Pro East Series has always provided a nice mix of up and coming drivers with local drivers and there have been a great deal of K&N drivers that have succeeded at the highest levels of NASCAR. Trevor Bayne and Joey Logano have both won the Daytona 500 and we’ve also had drivers like Martin Truex, Jr. and Austin Dillon, who have won championships in the premier divisions of NASCAR. This season’s K&N Pro Series East drivers, such as Harrison Burton, could very well be future Daytona 500 or premier series champion.”
