Tyler Trott Ready to Challenge for DARE Stock Track Title at Stafford Speedway

Stafford Springs, CT — After winning three races and finishing second in the points standings last season, Stafford Speedway DARE Stock driver Tyler Trott is ready to contend for the 2016 track championship. Trott heads into the 2016 season ready to build on his solid 2015 performance and climb one rung higher in the points standings at season’s end.

“We’re hoping we can pick right up where we left off last year and come out of the gate strong,” said Trott. “There’s a lot of drivers coming back, I think we’re going to have a good car count, and hopefully we can get the car up front again.”

Trott had a somewhat under the radar start to his DARE Stock career with no top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes as a rookie in 2014, but the 2015 season was a totally different story for Trott and his #11 Jet Motorsports. The team racked up 3 wins, 19 top-5, and 20 top-10 finishes in 22 starts last season to finish second in the championship behind Frank L’Etoile, Jr. and while last season might have struck the #11 team as a surprise, they are ready to come out of the box with guns blazing as they look to build on their 2015 season.

“I think last year was a surprise for us,” said Trott. “Our first year was a big learning curve and I kept on telling myself that we were going to be better the next year. I wasn’t expecting to be a championship contender and I took things modestly and humbly last year and I counted all the wins as a blessing. We put a new body on the car but other than that, it’s all the same. I have a great crew, it’s all family oriented, and racing is number one for us and we know we have to get it done on race day. I really think we can be a championship contender again.”

One thing that Trott will have working in his favor is a solid notebook that he and his crew built up during a season that saw them finish outside the top-5 only three times all year long.

“We know we had a good car last year and I was able to build up my skills,” said Trott. “There’s definitely things that I can still improve on and learn. More patience is everything in our races because they’re so short and the cars are so evenly matched. It’s going to be tougher this year with the tire rule because you can’t put new tires on the car every week now. I have a lot of great support from my crew and they’re all telling me that we’re going to go out and win it this year. That’s the goal and I’m just going to keep going and pushing, hopefully not let my team down, and put on a good show for all the Stafford fans.”
