North/South SLM Challenge to Air Live on Speed51.com
CONCORD, N.C. — Super Late Model racers from both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line will converge in Nashville, Tennessee on April 8-9 for the North/South Super Late Model Challenge. The event, which will put the best of the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco up against the best of the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS, will now reach race fans throughout the world with a live online video stream on Speed51.com.
On Friday afternoon, officials from Track Enterprises and Speed51.com made the announcement that both days of Super Late Model racing action will be showcased on Speed51 TV, the live online video streaming network on Speed51.com.
“We had a great show in 2015 with the Southern Super Series and ARCA. This year we wanted to make it even bigger by involving CRA as well,” said Adam Mackey, Operations Manager at Track Enterprises. “We also wanted to give fans a taste of great Super Late Model racing if they couldn’t travel to Nashville by offering the Speed51 pay-per-view broadcast. Some of the best drivers in Late Model racing will be there and it will be a great event.”
The North/South Super Late Model Challenge 125 will consist of two 50-lap points-counting features for each series/region on Friday night, April 8. The top 12 finishing drivers from each race will automatically qualify for the 75-lap combination race that will be held on Saturday, April 9.
The remainder of the 32-car field for the $5,000-to-win race will be completed with the top-four finishers of the last chance race on Saturday and two provisionals for each series.
“This is a unique event and we are proud to continue to provide some of the best races in the country for fans to watch that aren’t able to make it to the track because of long-distance travel or just every-day life,” said Bob Dillner, Executive Editor, Speed51.com. “The North/South Super Late Model Challenge is going to be wild and I appreciate what everyone from Track Enterprises is trying to do for short track racing as a whole. Together, we hope everyone enjoys the race, either in person, or from the live video stream on Speed51.com.”
Currently, the entry list for the event features some of the top names in Super Late Model racing and beyond. Kyle Busch Motorsports teammates Christopher Bell and William Byron are both entered along with part-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Cody Coughlin, Super Late Model ace Bubba Pollard, former All American 400 winner Boris Jurkovic and third-generation racer Steve Wallace.
Speed51.com’s live video stream of the event will feature all of the Super Late Model action from Nashville beginning with qualifying on Friday. The single-camera broadcast will feature audio from the track’s public address feed and will allow race fans to hear the action just as they would at the race track.
Live video tickets for the North/South Super Late Model Challenge will be available for purchase beginning Monday, April 4 on Speed51.com.
Fans can purchase individual video tickets for both Friday and Saturday for $19.99 or enjoy a savings by purchasing a two-day ticket for $34.99.
