Reid Lanpher to run in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and Super Late Models

Reid Lanpher out of Manchester, ME will run a limited schedule on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East this season. Lanpher made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut at Bristol Motor Speedway this past weekend. Lanpher qualified 22nd and would finish in 25th. Before the event at Bristol Motor Speedway, Lanpher and the Marsh Racing team came and tested at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. The test went awesome for Lanpher.

Lanpher’s remaining schedule will be races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Iowa Speedway in July. He will head to Watkins Glen in August and the season finale at Dover International Speedway in October.  “ It’s cool especially the one that are on cup weekend. To be part of the big show.  I’ve never raced that caliber before. It’s a whole new experience for us.” Lanpher Said

The chemistry has been awesome for Lanpher and the Marsh Racing Team. “ Ted (Marsh) is a great guy. The whole crew they take a lot of pride in their work. I am really looking forward to working with those guys.”

Lanpher will also be racing his Super Late Model on the PASS North Series as well as Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.  Lanpher is the defending champion of the Pro Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway but the main focus will be on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.  Lanpher feels if they can land a sponsor or two, he hopes to do more races on the series. The deal came together at the last minute as Reid’s father Scott was talking to Andy Santerre and Steve Prescott. They happened to talk to Ted Marsh as Marsh was looking for a driver. It just all fell into place.

With some of the drivers coming into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, some of the drivers are 15 or 16 years old to develop their skills to make it to the next level in NASCAR.  Harrison Burton son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeff Burton is 15 years old  and Tyler Dippel is only 16 years old. Lanpher is 17 and if he could run in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East full time. He would be ecstatic. “ Unfortunately we’re not in the financial position to do it on our own like some people are in that series.  My future is pretty dependent on sponsorship.  We look forward to hopefully getting some more support. We’re very fortunate to have a lot of great people behind our super late model. It is very dependent on that. We hope for a little luck to come our way. We would do anything to run the full K&N schedule.”

Lanpher isn’t planning to set the bar too high for this season but he would love to win a race on the PASS North Series and get a win at Beech Ridge. He would love to get a top 5 in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. He also wants to be consistent and have fun with his crew.

The next race for the PASS North Super Late Models will be at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on April 30th.
