Joel Monahan To Race At Stafford And Monadnock This Season

Joel Monahan out of Whately, MA will be pulling double duty this season as he will run full time in the Late Model division at Stafford Motor Speedway on Friday nights going for Rookie Of The Year. He will also be running full time in the Super Stock division and a limited schedule in the Sportsman Modified division on Saturday nights at the Monadnock Speedway. If his schedule permits, he will also run in the Late Model division at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. His goal is to make the Bond Auto Parts ACT Tour Invitational this season on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September. 

Monahan took down 4 wins in the Super Stocks and 2 wins in the Mini Stocks at Monadnock. He would finish 3rd in the final point standings in his rookie season in the Super Stocks and 8th in points in the Mini Stocks.  Last year, he ran the final 4 events at Stafford Motor Speedway.  The thing is looking forward to about racing at Stafford Motor Speedway is he is looking to be competitive and get some success as he feels the Late Model division is very competitive and fast competitors.  

His goal for 2016 is to get the Super Stock Championship at Monadnock Speedway.  ” Really looking for the Super Stock Championship at Monadnock but you have to play it by year. Just race to win every race and hopefully I’ll end up in shape.” Monahan Said

Monahan would like to thank his sponsors Monahan Trucking, Muffins General Market, RAD Auto, and a very special thanks to his mother. Monahan ran in the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler 30 Lap Late Model race on Sunday where he would finish in 9th position.

Monadnock Speedway will kick off their 2016 season this upcoming Saturday night April 30th with the Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash featuring the Valenti Modified Racing Series.   Stafford Motor Speedway will kick off their first Friday night event of the season on Friday night May 6th.
