Monadnock Speedway Gearing Up For 2016 Season. Season Opener To Be Held This Saturday

Monadnock Speedway is getting ready for a very busy 2016 season. They will kick off their 2016 season this upcoming Saturday on April 30th with Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 featuring the Valenti Modified Racing Series along with the Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Lightning Stocks, and Young Guns. Race teams were able to come this past Saturday to shake down their cars and get them ready for opening night.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series will kick off their 2016 season at the New Hampshire Quarter Mile Oval. The first race was held on April 17th, 2004 at Monadnock where Kirk Alexander took the win in the event. Todd Szegedy is the defending winner of the Valenti Modified Racing Series season opener.  Many drivers have registered with the series this season.

There will be many special events throughout the season. On Saturday night May 21st, the Modified Touring Series will make it’s debut at the New Hampshire Quarter Mile for the Winchester 200. Many different drivers from all over the region have entered for this event that will pay the winner $15,000.

The Granite State Pro Stock Series will make the first of two appearances. The first one will be on Memorial Day weekend on Saturday night May 28th. The second appearance will be on Saturday night August 13 for the JBH 100 in memory of John Hoyt. On Saturday night June 11th, it will be the Ron Bouchard 100 Northeast Race Cars And Parts Tri-Track Open Modified Racing Series event. Matt Hirschman is the defending winner of this event. It has brought a lot of interest with the series as many drivers from all over have registered with the series on the 5 race schedule.

The NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites will be on hand for the Iron Mike Scrivani Memorial Race on Saturday night June 18th. The Open Track party will be held on Saturday night June 25th. On Saturday night July 2nd, the Valenti Modified Racing Series will make their second appearance of the season. The track will have their annual fireworks display. The track will take a week off from racing on Saturday July 16th.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will return on Saturday night July 23rd. Ryan Preece will lead the first 44 laps of the race before Doug Coby would take the lead and lead the final 156 laps to win the event. The N.E. Street Stock tour will make their first appearance of the season on Saturday night July 30th.

The Victor Johnson Memorial presented by Swanzey Oil that will feature the Valenti Modified Racing Series will be held on Saturday night August 20th.  Championship night for the NASCAR Whelen All American Weekly divisions will be held on Saturday night September 17th.  The season finale for the Speedway this season will be held on Saturday October 1st. The Mud Bogs will return once a month this season. They will be held on May 15th, June 12th, July 10th, August 14th, September 11th, and October 16th. The 2016 Awards Banquet will be held at the Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA on Saturday November 26th.

This Saturday on April 30th, the pits will open at 11 A.M.
