Parking for Speed51 Open Made Easier With New Lots

Free & Convenient Parking Offered for Big Event at Millbridge

Salisbury, NC – Over 100 Outlaw Karts are expected to be on the property at Salisbury, North Carolina’s Millbridge Speedway on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday May 25 for the QRC Speed51 Open. With that in mind, Millbridge Speedway owners, Ashly and Jeremy Burnett, have acquired more land for a new parking area for all race fans coming to the track.

The new parking area is behind turns one and two of the speedway. Fans will walk through a clearly marked path to the race track from there. Fans will turn off of Mooresville Road onto an access road that will lead to the parking lot.

Fans coming from the west on Mooresville Road will make a left onto the access road just past the speedway’s main entrance. Race fans coming from the east on Mooresville Road will make a right turn onto the access road just prior to the speedway’s main entrance. The route to the parking lot will be clearly marked.

“We feel that our new parking area for the Speed51 Open will give us opportunities to continue to grow year by year,” said Ashly Burnett. “We feel like we’re no longer just confined to the area that we have had and now we can grow more every year. This new parking area will be easy for fans to find and hopefully this new area will be full of cars on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.”

Parking for the Speed51 Open is free for all fans on both nights.

For fans that cannot make it to Millbridge Speedway for the Speed51 Open can watch both nights of action live on the Speed51 TV pay-per-view broadcast. Fans can purchase their online ticket here: http://speed51.com/speed51-tv-2016-speed51-open-at-millbridge-speedway/

Racing kicks off at the Speed51 Open on Tuesday, May 24 with open practice and qualifying for the Open Division. Support classes including the Beginner Box Stocks, Box Stocks and Intermediate Class will run group qualifying and features only that night. Speed51.com will carry a live PPV video stream of these events.

Following the conclusion of the on-track action there will be an after-party featuring a live band.

Wednesday night’s schedule includes only the Open Division for the Outlaw Karts. Heat races are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be lined up based upon Tuesday night’s time trial results. The top-four finishers in each heat race will be inverted with the winner going to the dash, second going to the A-Main and third on back going to the B, C and D Mains.

The Dash will be eight laps and the drivers will line up based upon the “revenge draw,” which allows drivers to draw for starting position and then assign that positon to another driver.

Following the Dash, B-Main, C-Main and D-Main features, the field will be set and the Outlaw Kart racers will buckle in to battle for the $5,151 top prize.
