Sargeant Returns to Racing Roots; Vying for First ARCA Win at New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Thunderbolt Road Course

Concord, North Carolina (May 24, 2016) – Dalton Sargeant has quickly made a name for himself during his young ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards career. Sargeant, who made his series debut less than a month ago with Venturini Motorsports, has already claimed two top-3 and three top-10 finishes during his first-ever series attempts.

After starting his season with impressive results, Sargeant now shifts focus to this weekend’s ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels at New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Thunderbolt Raceway – a 2.3 mile-paved road course.

Sargeant, driver of the No.55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota Racing Development Camry powered by Windows 10 Toyota, is considered to be one of the premier road racers on ARCA’s New Jersey entry list.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel at a road course,” said Sargeant. “For so much of my career I’ve been competing at road courses, so I always get excited when I get to return to them. We are definitely aiming for the win, we have some great momentum heading into this weekend and it’s been a really successful start to the season with Venturini Motorsports. It’d be really special to seal the deal at New Jersey Motorsport Park; looking forward to a great race!”

Returning to his racing roots, Sargeant is a decorated road course racer with an impressive resume to his name. Sargeant, who started his career on the karting circuit in his home state of Florida, won the Rotax United States Grand Nationals Karting Championship in 2011 and also represented the United States in the World Championships in the United Arab Emirates the same year.

In 2012, Sargeant moved to Europe taking up residence in Italy and Switzerland where he would travel the world and compete at the highest levels in FIA-CIK and WSK international karting championships before finding his way as a test driver for various European Formula Open-Wheel teams.

Sargeant’s success on the road course would later translate after the 18-year old driver started racing stock cars in 2014. In 2015, competing in both NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West, Sargeant would earn two second place finishes at famed road courses, Sonoma Raceway (K&N West) and Watkins Glenn (K&N East).

Sargeant, hoping to continue his hot streak, goes into this weekend’s road course race as a legitimate contender for Saturday’s ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels event at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
