Top Pro Stock-Super Late Model Drivers Targeting Seekonk Event

Seekonk, Mass –- Interest from New England to Florida from Pro-Stock and Super Late Model drivers, is increasing daily as the date draws near for the Pro Stock/Super Late Model National Championship 200-lap race, July 13, at Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, Mass.

The inaugural event is drawing widespread interest because of the $10,000 to win payout, $47,160 purse including lap money, vacation season in New England, and it’s race week in Loudon, NH. Fans often look for other short track venues to attend in advance of the big weekend in New Hampshire.

Gary Sagar, of Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment, promoter of the National Championship event advises top drivers, many known to New England fans, have expressed their intent to compete.

‘The Outlaw’ Eddie MacDonald. Of Rowley, MA, is an expected entry. MacDonald, whose record speaks for itself, will be joined by fellow American-Canadian Tour hot shoe, Joey Pole, of Pelham, NH.

West Boylston, MA, driver Derek Ranstrom, of Belchertown, MA, and 2015 Granite State Pro-Stock Champion, Derek Griffith, of Hudson, NH, have indicated they will be entrants in the event.

Mike O’Sullivan, of Springfield, MA, is a GSPSS guaranteed starter from Monadnock Speedway. Wyatt Alexander, of Ellsworth, ME, will represent Wiscasset (ME) Speedway, reigning Seekonk champion Angelo Belsito, of Auburn, MA, represents his home track, and Joey Doiron, of Berwick, ME, will be the guaranteed competitor from Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME.

Seekonk champions Fred Astle, David Darling, Dick Houlihan, Rick Martin, and Kenny Spencer, will enter the event.

Seekonk regulars Tom Scully Jr, Ryan Lineham, Bobby Pelland, Ryan Vanasse, Craig Weinstein, Bob Hussey, and Mike Brightman, are expected to compete.

Outside the region, Dalton Sargent, of Boca Raton, Florida, intends to make the trip. He will wheel a car for Bond Suss, former crew chief for Kyle Bush Motorsports headquartered in Concord, North Carolina.

Jerry Dineen, the 2015 Super Late Model Champion at Adirondack Speedway in New Bremen, New York, has indicated he will race at Seekonk.

The race program will start at 6:00 PM. A rain date if needed will be the next day.
