Berlin to Welcome NASCAR K&N Pro Series East

NASCAR’s Top Developmental Series to Make Inaugural Visit

MARNE, Mich. – William Byron won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway last Friday. Daniel Suarez took home the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship there Saturday. And Sunday, Chase Elliott captured the Sunoco Rookie of
the Year honors in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The trio all launched their careers into NASCAR’s national series, along with drivers such as Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, and Darrell Wallace Jr., with their success in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. And the next batch of drivers following in their footsteps are coming to Berlin in
2017.

Berlin Raceway is pleased to announce that NASCAR’s top developmental series will make its inaugural trip to “Where Speed Belongs!” on Saturday, July 1.

“Over the last several years, we’ve seen the next wave of NASCAR stars come through the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, and we are ecstatic to welcome the series to Michigan for the first time,” said Berlin Raceway President Mike Bursley. “This is a tremendous opportunity for our
fans to see tomorrow’s stars race here. Many of the drivers we will see compete next summer will be racing for NASCAR national series championships in the near future, and Berlin race fans will be able to get a glimpse of NASCAR’s future.”

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East was established in 1987, and in recent years has become a starting point for talented young drivers looking to make their mark. Elliott, Larson and Logano all scored their first NASCAR wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

This will be the series’ first trip to Michigan.

Berlin Raceway announced the Battle at Berlin presented by Primera Plastics, Inc., will return on August 26, 2017. The complete 2017 schedule will be released on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
