All is Ready for Opening Day at Grandview Speedway April 8

Popular “Low Down and Dirty” Meet and Greets Ready for Another Season

BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 5, 2017 . . . Are you ready for some great dirt track racing action? The 55th consecutive season of stock car racing action is set to officially get started on Saturday, April 8th at 7 p.m. at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway.

New clay has been added to the racing surface and it held up well during last Saturday’s practice session. With more track work being performed this week management of the one-third-mile, banked clay track is excited about another season getting the green flag.

The T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds will headline the tripleheader show that will also include the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. At least 12 events of action packed, wheel-to-wheel racing competition will be featured.

Gates for spectators will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday with racing action scheduled for a 7 p.m. start. Adult admission is $15 while youngster 11 and under being admitted free. Pit admission is $30 and those entering the pits must have a NASCAR license.

Back again this season will be the very popular “Low Down and Dirty” Meet and Greet that takes place as spectator gates open at the main entrance each Saturday. Fans have the opportunity to meet drivers from all divisions of racing each week. Scott Diehl and other members of the “Low Down and Dirty” Tuesday Internet radio show staff (“Whippy” Whitman and Eric Whitby) are responsible for putting the weekly event together and participation allows drivers to meet their fans, gain exposure for their all-important sponsors, sign autographs and pose for photos.

The “Low Down and Dirty” Meet and Greet continues throughout the Saturday night NASCAR racing season. Racers wishing to be involved can reach out to Scott Diehl or members of his team at the track.

This Saturday the Meet and Greet will include Addison Meitzler, returning to Modified action; Sportsman racer Nate Mohr who will be giving out Easter eggs and Late Model talent Shawn Horning. Fans are reminded to bring their camera to get some great photos.

Exciting Enduro racing action along with Blast from the Past Vintage car racing will be presented on Sunday, April 9th at 1 p.m.

Coming up on Saturday, April 15th, is the first extra distance event which will feature the T.P.Trailer NASCAR 358 Modifieds in a 35-lap main event that will reward the winner with $3500. The winner will also have the opportunity to earn a $250 bonus from T.P.Trailers along with a $150 VP Racing Fuels product award. Certain requirements must be met to be able to collect the special awards.

In addition to the extra distance Modified event, there will be action for the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars.

The Checkered Flag Fan Club, a popular auto racing fan organization, will be on hand to offer CFFC awards to winners of races if they are members. And there will be opportunities to renew memberships or sign up as a new member for the very worthwhile organization.

Adult admission will be $20 while youngsters 11 through 6 pay just $5 and those under 6 are admitted free.

The April 15th show will start at 7 p.m. as do all Saturday night events during the month of April.
