World of Outlaws Get Set for Outlaw Invasion at Atomic Speedway on May 18-19

CHILLICOTHE, OH– May 15, 2018– The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series gets set for a doubleheader weekend of two complete $10,000-to-win shows at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio on May 18-19 for the Outlaw Invasion. Last year, Devin Moran collected his first-ever World of Outlaws win at the 3/8-mile dirt track.

“It was definitely pretty cool just for the simple fact that it was in my home state and I like that place a lot,” said Moran. “It was my first one ever. Having an Outlaw win is definitely awesome.”

Right after his victory when speaking with Series Announcer Rick Eshelman, Moran said, “When I crossed the checkered flag I was yelling in my helmet. “Everything fell in our favor tonight. We had the car right and that’s what it starts with. Then we got quick time, won our heat and drew a good pill. It’s been a picture-perfect night here. It’s awesome to get our first win in Ohio on a night like this.”

Moran collected a total of two wins during his rookie campaign in 2017: Atomic Speedway on May 26 and Georgetown Speedway on Aug. 17. Now, during his sophomore campaign, the driver of Dresden, OH is still in search of his first win of the season.

“I was struggling earlier in the year but we got the car running a lot better so hopefully we can go and have good runs at Atomic,” said Moran. “Atomic is pretty banked and it usually starts out on the gas and transitions a lot throughout the night. It gets pretty slick. You definitely have to be the best in both conditions to stay up front throughout the night.”

The Outlaw Invasion at Atomic Speedway will cap off an interesting month of May for the Series. Over the course of the past month, the Series has had four races and four different winners including Brandon Sheppard (Lavonia Speedway on May 3), Mike Marlar (Cherokee Speedway on May 4), Chris Madden (Senoia Raceway on May 5) and Jimmy Owens (Fayetteville Motor Speedway on May 6). The points battle is still anyone’s for the taking with the top four drivers (Madden, Marlar, Sheppard and Shane Clanton) just separated by 52 points.
