DCRP vs. URSS Sprint Car Clash this Saturday

Last Tuneup before DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals!

DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 28, 2019) – It’s take two on the DCRP vs. URSS Sprint Car Clash this Saturday night atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas.

Originally slated for May 18 only to be washed out by storms, the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars will square off with the United Rebel Sprint Series for the second time this season on Saturday night.

Along with the Sprint Car Clash, a full slate of DCRP championship chase action including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, and IMCA Hobby Stocks will be on the slate as well with the green flag flying at 7:30 p.m.

It marks the opening leg of a weekend double with the third round of Micro and Kart action taking place atop the 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.  The Sunday card will also include the addition of open outlaw Karts for competitors 16 and up.

Saturday marks the fourth round of competition for the DCRP Sprint Cars and is the final chance to hit the track before the Third Annual Lubbock Wrecker Service DCRP 305 Sprint Car Nationals on June 13-15.

Luke Cranston topped the opening round of competition pitting the DCRP Sprint Cars and URSS against one another with Brian Herbert and defending track champion Steven Richardson reaching victory lane in ensuing events.

Cranston holds an early 19-point lead over Richardson in the DCRP points chase while Herbert holds the early advantage in URSS points.

Others leading the way in the DCRP championship chases going into Saturday’s action include Clay Sellard in IMCA Modifieds, Dakota Sproul in IMCA Sport Modifieds, Angel Munoz in IMCA Stock Cars and Cody Ghumm in IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Tickets to Saturday night’s URSS vs. DCRP Sprint Car Clash are just $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.  Pit passes are $30.

In total, the 2019 season atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval is slated for 18 nights of action along with another eight Sunday cards atop the newly-constructed 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.
