DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series Geared Up for 2020

Added Dates and Tracks Spice up the Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Dec. 16, 2019 — The 2020 DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series tour, which right now features three strong regional schedules culminating in a highly anticipated Fall Championship Challenge, was announced Saturday at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.

DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series Central Region: Fulton Speedway kicks off the season Friday, April 24, with the High Bank Holdup 50, a track where 50-70 routinely race in the Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship. Utica-Rome Speedway hosts the next race on Sunday, June 14.

Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, NY, holds a pair of dates for the Central Region. Saturday, June 27, is the first, and the second is in conjunction with the Super DIRTcar Series event on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The newly reconfigured Can-Am Speedway is the next to host a pair of Sportsman Series events. Wednesday, July 1, is the first while the Series rolls into Lafargeville, NY, for the second time on Friday, Sept. 11.

One of the highlights on the schedule is Hall of Fame weekend at Weedsport Speedway. The highly anticipated race falls on Sunday, July 26, along with the Super DIRTcar Series tour stop at Weedsport on the same day.

The DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series makes a stop at “D-Shaped Demon” Brewerton Speedway on Friday, Sept. 18. The Central Region schedule concludes the next day at Land of Legends Raceway.

DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series North Region: The North Region schedule promises another year of excitement in the North Country and Canada. This year the newly renovated Le RPM Speedway facility in St-Marcel, QC, launches Series action on Saturday, June 6.

On Thursday, June 25, Mohawk Int’l Raceway hosts the Sportsman Modified North Region for the first of two race dates at the Akwesasne race track. Autodrome Granby welcomes the Sportsman Series the next day on Friday, June 26. The next Mohawk date falls on Saturday, Sept. 19. Cornwall Motor Speedway is to host a race as well but that date is yet to be determined.

DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series West Region: The West Region is set to get wild this year with a diverse schedule prepared for our DIRTcar Sportsman Modified drivers in Western New York and Ontario. Humberstone Speedway gets the action started on Sunday, May 17. The Series then invades Merrittville Speedway a day later on Monday, May 18.

Currently, there are negotiations underway to possibly add an Eastern Region to the 2020 docket. Further details will be coming shortly after the PRI Trade Show.

Fall Championship Challenge: After months of hard-fought racing, the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series combines for the Fall Championship Challenge, which kicks off on Outlaw Weekend at Fulton Speedway Friday and Saturday, Oct, 2-3.

NAPA Super DIRT Week XLIX is a huge part of the Fall Challenge. The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds race five out of six nights Oct. 6-11. Utica-Rome Speedway, Weedsport Speedway, Brewerton Speedway, and Oswego Speedway host the Sportsman speed week.

Finally, a champion is crowned at the Northeast Fall Nationals a Brockville Ontario Speedway on Oct. 17. The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds return to DRIVEN World Short Track Championship as a headline division on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
