Preliminary Schedule Announced for Weedsport Kartway’s ‘Octoberfest’

WEEDSPORT, NY (April 7, 2020) – Weedsport Kartway’s ‘Octoberfest’, to be held on October 17-18, will once again conclude the championship season at The Short Port, but with a new twist in 2020.

This year, points-paying events will be held on both Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, increasing the number of championship events for all classes to six for the upcoming season.

With point races held each day, the ‘Octoberfest’ PRO mains will be split between Saturday and Sunday, with three contending on each afternoon including the $1,000 PRO Clone Light 35-lapper on Saturday and the $2,000 PRO Clone Heavy 40-lapper on Sunday.

“Being that we had to schedule on our originally prescribed rain date of August 30, we decided that adding another day of point racing during ‘Octoberfest’ would be a good fit,” said Weedsport Promoter, Jimmy Phelps.  “The change will allow for identical formats of time trials and racing to be held each day, with PRO money awarded and championships on the line.  I think it will make for a fantastic weekend.”

PRO Blue Clone, paying a guaranteed $300 to win, and the $500 to win Burris Racing Tire NYS Clone Invitational will join the $1,000 to win PRO Clone Light main on Saturday.

Sunday will see guaranteed $500 to win mains for PRO Jr. Unrestricted and PRO Clone Super Heavy, as well as the 3rd annual PRO Clone Heavy main, paying $2,000 to win.

A full flight of point races for Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Unrestricted, Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy will be run each day.  Drivers competing in a Saturday PRO main must compete in a Saturday point class, the same goes for Sunday.  The Burris Racing Tire NYS Clone Invitational is exempt from this rule.
