Seekonk Speedway 2020 Fast Friday Protocols

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway will open the 2020 Fast Friday season on Friday, July 10. An extensive list of protocols has been put together in accordance with guidance from the state of Massachusetts, town of Seekonk, and all CDC recommendations, to keep all competitors and their race teams safe.

All protocols MUST be followed for the entire time patrons are at the facility or the track may not be granted the rights to continue racing. Front spectator gates will NOT be open for the start of the Fast Friday season, although Seekonk is confident gates will open at a limited capacity at some point in 2020.

Seekonk management realizes the protocols are not ideal, however, the track is grateful to the state of Massachusetts for working with the third-mile facility to open for the 75th anniversary. Seekonk Speedway is the ONLY facility of its kind to get the green light on opening its doors after the start of COVID to this point. The remainder of 2020 will look different compared to other years, but the track looks forward to welcoming competition back starting with Fast Friday, and eventually Saturday night racing.

As one final tune-up for teams, there will be a Fast Friday only practice on Wednesday, July 8, from 4-8 p.m., with no pre-registration required. Pit gates will open at 2:30 p.m. All below protocols will be in place starting on Wednesday night.

Races will not be live-streamed on the night of the event but a full-race video for each division will be available in their entirety within 24 hours of the race.

Social distancing is required at all times. There are no exceptions.

Below is a list of protocols in place for Fast Friday, starting July 10:

-Per an Executive Order in the state of Massachusetts, all patrons must wear a face covering when entering the facility.

-While in your own pit stalls, or in the grandstands (seated and socially distanced), face coverings are not required.

-When you are walking around the facility, including in lines at the pit gates, going from your pit stall to the grandstands to watch the race, etc., face masks are required.

-Car registrations for the 2020 season are REQUIRED for any competitor wishing to race on Friday nights. Registrations for the season can be completed and paid for on the track website.

-Pre-payment options for pit passes are immediately available on the track website and it is encouraged all race teams pre-pay for their entire crew by the Wednesday night before raceday. For example, for July 10, all pre-payment is encouraged by the night of Wednesday, July 8.

-Although it is not required that teams pre-pay, it is strongly encouraged. For those that don’t, there will be options available for payment at the track. Any crew members who don’t pre-pay can still purchase a pit pass at the track booth on Friday.

-There will be two different sides of the pit area booth open on Friday: one for pre-paid teams, and another for those who didn’t pre-pay. Teams are reminded that COVID waivers are necessary for those who haven’t filled them out yet for the season. The line for those that have not paid could get busy and delay entry.

-Pit admission is $20 per person.

-Seekonk Speedway will allow anyone, on any race team to attend Fast Friday through the pit gates. When a crew/family/friend walks up to the pit booth, please just mention what team you have an association with, and you will be cleared for payment and entry.

-There will absolutely NO re-entry to the pit area once you have left. You MUST bring everything with when you sign-in and enter the track. No one will be allowed to go out to their vehicle and return. There are no exceptions to this rule.

-Seekonk Speedway’s minor policies have not changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Any minors who are 15 years old or older can enter the pit area with all notarized minor release forms already completed. No exceptions will be made to this rule.

-Any patrons who don’t follow protocols are subject to ejection from the facility for the duration of the night, or multiple events.

-Temperature Checks and COVID19 waivers may be required before entering facility.

-If you are sick or are showing any COVID19 symptoms, please STAY HOME.

Anyone with questions about any of the protocols is encouraged to contact the track office prior to Friday night at 1-508-336-9959. Stay tuned to Facebook and the website for the latest information surrounding the 75th anniversary season at Seekonk Speedway.
