ACT, Riverside Postpone Leavitt Memorial 150

Waterbury, VT — American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Riverside Speedway officials have announced the Gardiner & June Leavitt Memorial 150 scheduled for Saturday, July 11 has been postponed due to an uncertain weather forecast. The make-up date is to-be-determined.

The village of Groveton, along with much of northern New Hampshire, has been facing the potential of weekend rain from Tropical Storm Fay. With conflicting reports by various weather forecasting outlets, and some ACT regulars facing a potential 10-hour round trip under a cloud of uncertainty, track and series officials agreed it was in the best interests of all to postpone the ACT portion of the event.

Riverside Speedway will attempt to get in their local card of racing on Saturday night with a modified schedule and pricing. Discussions will be held next week to determine a make-up date for the Leavitt Memorial 150.

“ACT hasn’t been to Riverside in two years, and we want to make sure our return is the best show possible,” ACT managing partner Cris Michaud said. “The track and its fans deserve that. Unfortunately, the uncertainty of the weather situation coupled with the extended travel for many teams would have limited the show’s potential. Both Riverside and ACT realized that, and we’ll find a new date that allows the show to be everything it should be.”

The next event on the ACT schedule is the Bay State Classic presented by Propane Plus at Massachusetts’ Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, July 29 at 6:00pm. Officials expect to learn more early next week regarding the status of the event that would feature the ACT Late Model Tour and the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models.
