Groveton’s Mike Kenison Wins Late Model Main Event on DK-N-sons Night at Riverside

September 14, 2020 — Mike Kenison drove his heart out Saturday night to hold off a hard-charging Shawn Swallow to win the Creative Counter Late Model main event on double points night at the Groveton speed plant. Kenison got out front early and fended off several challenges but Swallow tried to get around Kenison but in the end, Swallow was persistent but just couldn’t get around Kenison and settled for second. Whitefield’s Sammy Gooden brought the Gooden’s Powder Coating Chevrolet home in the third spot.

Lil Rascals Dwarf cars ran green to checkers and Richie Turner got to the flag first followed by Brenna Humphrey in her #21 and Brad Sanborn finally got his miserable season turned around with a hard-fought third place. In the Claudette and Dean’s Place Dare Devils point leader, Cassie Leonard got the lead and didn’t look back as she got another win on double points night. Mekaylah Bowen ended the night in second and Revin Evan Gilbert recovered from an early spin to finish third.

White Mountains Community College 6 -8 Bone Stocks saw Groveton’s Mike Sherburne grab another win and pad his point lead while first-week competitor Bryson Lamontagne brought a new car to the speedway and had a good night with a second-place run. Jamie Swallow SR. brought his Dodge in to end the night in third.

White Mountains Community College Bone Stock 4 cylinders saw just two cautions and when everything got sorted out point leader Ryan Heuser picked up his fifth win of the 2020 season, Doug Collins had a great second-place finish for the night and Travis Collins finished third in his #30 machine.

The EKeys4Cars Formula Fours, Chris Caron got another victory on the season with Jefferson’s Dan Stinson SR. coming home in second. Newcomer Jeffery Martin got third in his first start this season at Riverside. In the Scottie Fraziers 2To Go Show Flying Tigers the point battle got tighter this week as Neon Nick Gilcris picked up the win with Rowdy Brad Bushey finishing second after bouncing off the backstretch wall on lap 2. Jason Kenison brought the Carons Fabrication Chevrolet in for third. This coming week the Late Models will crown their champion with a 75 lap main event. The Scottie Fraziers 2 To Go Tigers, EKeys4Cars Formula Fours, Lil Rascals Dwarf, and Dare Devil cars will also be in action.
