World of Outlaws Scheduled to Return to Weedsport on July 31

WEEDSPORT, NY (November 26, 2020) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series announced its 2021 schedule on Wednesday, with a return trip to Weedsport Speedway scheduled for Saturday, July 31.

The Empire State Challenge, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will pair the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series with the DIRTcar 358-Modifieds for an action packed Saturday night program at The Port.

“Being part of the World of Outlaws schedule is always a highlight for us at Weedsport,” said Weedsport Speedway promoter, Jimmy Phelps. “Considering the climate in our area in relation to the pandemic, we’re hopeful this summer date puts us in a position to put on the type of event our fans deserve to see in person. The pairing of the World of Outlaws with the tight competition of the DIRTcar 358 ranks gives us all something to look forward to in 2021.”

With last year’s cancellation and a rainout in 2019, the July 31 stop for the Outlaws at Weedsport will be the first since July 29, 2018, when Brent Marks led all 35-laps on his way to a $10,000 victory over Sheldon Haudenschild and Jacob Allen.

The entire World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series schedule is now available at www.woosprint.com.

More information will be announced in the coming weeks in regards to tickets and camping details for the highly anticipated 2021 edition of the Empire State Challenge.
