Porsche Cars Australia announces updated 2021 Carrera Cup calendar

Sandown announced as Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia season-opener

Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) is pleased to announce that as the premier support category for the Repco Supercars Championship, the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia (PCCA) season-opener will now be held at the historic Sandown International Raceway on the 20th and 21st March.

The Carrera Cup Australia season then follows the Repco Supercar Championship to the fast and flowing curves of The Bend Motorsport Park in May, before heading to the calendar’s first (of four) street circuits in Townsville in July. Rounds four and five feature two back-to-back night races at Sydney Motorsport Park in August and Wanneroo Raceway in Perth in September.

Porsche teams then travel to the majestic Mount Panorama in New South Wales for the Bathurst 1000 in October, before returning to Melbourne in November and concluding the series on the streets of the Gold Coast in December.

PCA’s Head of Motorsport, Troy Bundy:
“We are really pleased with the revised calendar for the 2021 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup season, which offers our customers a great mix of events and circuits to attend, including four street circuits, two night races as well as the best permanent race tracks within the country. While it’s unfortunate that we will no longer race in New Zealand as originally planned, the revised calendar provides race-starved Melbourne fans an additional event in what is shaping up to be one of the best seasons for our category.”
