Racing Returns to Caraway Speedway Saturday Night

Late Models, Mini Stocks and Bowman Gray Street Stocks Headline Action

UCAR’s, Legends, Junior Elites and Enduro/Any Car Races Fill the Field

(Sophia, NC):  Racing action returns to Caraway Speedway this Saturday Night, March 20th with the “Spring Showdown”.

Headlining the events are the Caraway Speedway Late Models.  Dylan Ward bested Coy Beard last Sunday in the Late Model portion of the “SMART Chevrolet 99”.  Beard was the track Champion last season and is expected to defend his title.  Other possible entries include Ward, Clint King, Blaze Brinkley, Blake Bledsoe and Nicolas Graham and others.

The track’s Mini Stocks stole the show last week with A.J. Sanders edging Johnny Baker and Luke Smith at the finish.  Sanders, Baker and Smith head a list of Mini Stockers that includes Austin Cates, 2020 UCAR Champion, Brandon Collins, and several others.

The Street Stock division from Bowman Gray Stadium is slated for a 30 lapper.  Billy Gregg and Kevin Gilbert head a group of drivers expected to compete Saturday.

The Caraway Speedway UCAR’s will be in action this week for their usual 15 lap sprint race along with the 600 Racing Legends cars running their first 25 lap feature of the 2021 season.  A new division running at several tracks this year are the Junior Elites.  The class is designed for drivers from twelve years old with minimal experience in Late Model “Look-Alikes” competing in a 25 lap feature.  A 50 lapper for the Enduro/Any Car division wraps up a full night of racing.

Pits open at 3:00 PM and trackside Parking at 3:30 PM.  Grandstands open at 5:00 PM and qualifying is at 6:15 PM.  Racing gets underway at 7:00 PM.  For more information call the speedway at 336-629-5803 and leave a message or check the website, www.carawayspeedway.com, or like us on Facebook.
