Full Slate of Racing on Tap for Caraway Speedway on May 8th

(Sophia, NC):  Area race fans can get their weekly “racing fix” this Saturday night, May 8th at Asheboro, NC’s Caraway Speedway with seven divisions in action plus a “Chain Race”.

The Caraway Late Models are set for a 75 lapper for this special Mother’s Day edition of some of the best “grassroots” racing in the area.  Current points leader, Blaise Brinkley, heads a list of drivers that includes Blake Bledsoe, Dylan Ward, Donnie Apple, and others trying to make it to the Caraway Speedway “winners circle”.  Bledsoe is only 18 points behind Brinkley in the chase for the division title.  With the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour set to compete at Caraway on May 22nd, several teams are expected to use Saturday nights race as a tune-up for the “David “Lightning” Saunders Memorial”.

Also on tap for Saturday night is a 35 lapper for the Challengers as well as racing for the Mini Stocks, the 602 Modifieds, our UCAR’s, the ENDURO/Any Cars, the BG Street Stocks, and a special “Chain Race”.  In a “Chain Race,” the lead car has an engine and no brakes and pulls the train.  The rear car has a “dead” engine and brakes and provides the stopping power for the train.  The drivers of the two cars cannot communicate with one another so you never know who is stopping or pulling and usually makes a wild event.

There will be a Saturday Morning practice with sign-in at 10:00 AM and practice from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM.  The speedway will host lunch for early practice teams starting at 12:30 PM.  Grandstands are open for the early practice at no cost to fans wanting to check out the action.

Saturday afternoon Trackside opens at 3:00 PM ($20.00 for adults) and grandstands open at 5:00 PM ($15.00 Adults).  Qualifying begins at 6:15 and racing gets started at 7:00 PM.  Remember it is Ladies Night and all ladies get in for only $5.00.  Kids 11 and under are free.   For more information, check out the website at www.carawayspeedway.com of Caraway Speedway on Facebook or call 336-972-4362 and leave a message.  Someone will call you back ASAP.  And if you can’t make it to the track check out the live stream of our events at carawayspeedway.tv for the action as it happens.
