RACE PREVIEW: Granite State Pro Stock Stars Set To Duel With Beech Ridge Regulars

WALPOLE, N.H. — After a month break, the summer stretch begins for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) this Saturday, June 12, with the first of two stops at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The flat, tricky, Maine oval will play host to the fourth race of the season in what will be a battle between the GSPSS stars and the local Pro Stock division regulars.

Last year, in the GSPSS debut at Beech Ridge, track favorite Wyatt Alexander stormed into Victory Lane with a late pass of another track favorite, Corey Bubar. There are multiple others in the field with track experience — including Joe Pastore, Rusty Poland, David Oliver, Travis Buzzell, Don Colpritt Jr., Bill Rodgers, Barry Poulin and more. The entry list soars over 25 cars with a mix of track winners and champions, and GSPSS winners, champions and veterans.

On the series side, the championship battle heats up with just 11 races to go in the season. The Beech Ridge race begins a stretch of four races in five weekends — and points leaders Angelo Belsito, Devin O’Connell and Gabe Brown are hoping to break-free of their other challengers.

Belsito picked up a victory at Monadnock Speedway, while O’Connell and Brown have both finished on the podium early in the season. Brown, a young rising star, is still looking for his first series win, while O’Connell is a former champion. All three are expected to be major challengers for the win on Saturday.

Additional entries include Travis Benjamin, Alan Tardiff, Trevor Sanborn, DJ Shaw and Garrett Hall. All five of these drivers have proven to be winners in the Super Late Models and should be challengers for the checkered flag.

Look for Charlie Sanborn III to make his GSPSS debut, along with a challenge from Brandon Barker and series regulars Josh King, Casey Call, Kevin Casper, Tyler Tomassi and more. Bryan Kruczek, driver for Bobby Webber Racing, is coming off a victory at Star Speedway on May 8, and will look to make it two straight wins driving the No. 19 machine. Joey Doiron will pilot the No. 48 for historic car owner Rollie Lindblad.

Grandstand tickets to the race are $25 for adults and can be purchased at the track. There will be no live streaming option for this event.

The schedule for race day includes GSPSS pits opening at 9 a.m., practice starting at 11:45 a.m., time trials at 4 p.m., and qualifying heats and feature racing to follow.
