Race of Champions Management Addresses and Makes Statement Regarding Saturday, June 5, 2021 Lake Erie Speedway Event

Holland, N.Y. – (June 16, 2021) – Near the conclusion of the 50-lap Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series event at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., on Saturday, June 5, the leader of the race was spun from behind.

Whether or not the contact was intentional became inconsequential as things escalated and continued with social media and messaging challenges.

The two individuals involved, George Skora of Eden, N.Y., and Scotty Wylie of Blasdell, N.Y., were requested to attend a meeting with Series management along with their owners and crew chiefs to address the issues, moving forward away and away from the situation.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed in regard to penalties and to turn the negative into a positive situation for the community.

The duo, who have been friends for many years and that let their emotions get the best of themselves following the incident agreed to create a rivalry commemorative t-shirt. The t-shirt will have a unique design and the profits from the sale of the t-shirt will be donated to the Autism Society of WNY.

Details for the purchase of the t-shirt will be available shortly.

Each team will display the Autism Awareness and logo for the remainder of all Race of Champions Series races.

Each driver has been placed on probation until December 31, 2021 for all remaining Race of Champions events.
