Kevin Iannarelli Heads to Wiscasset Speedway With Winning in Mind

SHIRLEY, Mass. — Off a bit of a break behind the wheel, Kevin Iannarelli and the entire No. 27 iRacing.com team are heading back to work this Saturday, July 31, at Wiscasset Speedway in Maine. Iannarelli will compete in the third race of the season for the Modified Racing Series, the Vacationland 100.

Wiscasset is a tight short track located in Wiscasset, Maine — mostly known for fendered Pro Stock action. But, this Saturday, the stars and cars of the Modified Racing Series are set to invade the oval with $2,500 to win on the line in the open-wheel contest.

Iannarelli would love to drive the iRacing.com, PFC Brakes, Lucas Oil, Access Realty, VTANG machine into Victory Lane and capture his first victory in the series.

“I’m definitely excited to get back to Wiscasset to compete with the Modified Racing Series this weekend,” Iannarelli said. “I ran a few Midget races there in the past, and it’s a great facility that puts on some great side-by-side racing. The track has a very dedicated fanbase. I hope we can go in there and put on a great show for them on Saturday.”

In the first three races of the year for Iannarelli, who works as an Associate Producer full-time at iRacing outside of buckling up behind the wheel, he has one top-five finish, which came last time out at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. In the other two starts, Iannarelli qualified for the Tri Track Open Modified Series race at Star Speedway on May 22 against a stout field, and pitted early at Monadnock Speedway with the Modified Racing Series but wasn’t able to make it back out before the green flag, failing to finish.

At Beech Ridge, Iannarelli proved the team has the speed under the hood of the LFR Chassis entry and will look to carry some of that momentum into Wiscasset’s tricky track this weekend.

Pit gates open at 12:30 p.m., with the first green flag for practice laps beginning at 2:10 p.m. The Modified Racing Series will have three different practice sessions during the day, will be second in the heat lineup, and will be the first feature out as part of a full slate of action planned, with multiple local divisions joining the fun. For anyone who can’t make it to the track, the race will be available live to everyone that is a monthly or yearly subscriber to Speed51.TV.

The most crucial part of Iannarelli’s effort is the sponsors, crew, friends and family that support his racing on the track. Sponsors include iRacing.com, Lucas Oil, PFC Brakes, JR Motorsports, VTANG, Access Realty, and more.
