Strong Showing of New England Antique Racers Set Stage for Action-packed Night of Racing

Three Hodges Make the Victory Lane Photo Op in the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes

Sabil & Sons Old Timer night Feature winners: Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Jordan Fornwalt; Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Jeremy Hodge USAC DMA Midgets Return to action August 28th; C.A. Miller Limited Late Models MADNESS overall Ryan Christian; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Jesse Dunham; Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders Feature #1 Spencer Braley & Feature #2 Kevin LaForest. WYKR Sprint Cars of New England Clay Dow

Walker Motor Sales night MAKEUP Feature winners: LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Todd Dunham; Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Todd Buckwold.

Todd Buckwold added to the winner’s circle in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds as he takes home the checkers in the make-up event from Walker Motors night. Joining him in victory lane crossing second and third respectfully were Josh Sunn and Robert Tucker. Jason Gray and Jordan Fornwalt rounded out the top five. When they hit the track for the main event of the night Jordan Fornwalt is scored the winner, making it his third of the season just one less than Jason Gray your current points leader. Jason Gray crossed the line tight on his heals but was unable to make the pass for the win. Allan Hammond held on for his best finish of the year in third. Robert Tucker and Josh Sunn completed the top five.

In the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, it was a family affair with the winner almost happier for the third-place finisher than he was the win, almost! Jeremy Hodge finally gets his first win in almost a year kicking the proverbial monkey off his back. Coming home in second was another Hodge, this one by the name of Tim in the Gary Corsi machine his third trip to victory lane this year. The big surprise of the night was the third-place finisher son of Jeremy Hodge Cooper Hodge. Cooper a rookie in his first full year of racing has been learning the ropes over the past three quarters of the season, and was able to show he is getting it, by holding on for the third place and final victory lane spot. Needless to say, that was a very exciting and happy victory lane! Ryan Christian coming from deep in the pack wins the hard charger award, sponsored by New England Antique Racers’ president Rich Goucher and crosses the line in fourth with Brian Chaffee taking the fifth spot.

The USAC DMA Midgets were off and will be returning to action August 28th.

The C.A. Miller Limited Late Models had plenty of lap time with the makeup of their rained-out event from Walker Motors night and then it was their MADNESS night. Todd Dunham gets the win in the makeup race with Ryan Avery and Matt Piper crossing second and third. Tyler Tremblay and Jason Porter completed the top five. When they returned to the track it would be for three twenty lap segments and over $4,000 on the line with lap and purse money. The first segment win went to Matt Piper with Ryan Christian and Todd Dunham finishing in second and third. Matt Lashua and and Carl Eldridge completed the top five. Segment two goes to Carl Eldridge with Ryan Christian and Matt Lashua second and third. Tyler Tremblay and Matt er rounded out that top five. The third and final segment win went to Matt Piper again with Ryan Christian and Todd Dunham in second and third, a photo finish from the first segment. Tyler Trembley and Jason Porter completed the top five. When the three segments were combined for overall finish, Ryan Christian is scored the winner by two points over Matt Piper with Todd Dunham taking third. Tyler Tremblay and Matt Lashua completed the top five.

Jesse Dunham gets another win in the LaValley Building Supply as he tries to close the gap on the points leader Lucas Wheeler. Wheeler is okay with settling for second this week as he still has about a twenty-point lead over Dunham. John Fields joined the pair in victory lane crossing the line in third with Mike McClay and Mike Stender finishing out the top five. Edward Moodie was disqualified for retaliation/un-sportsman like conduct on the track. Jacob Brown has been suspended for the rest of the year due to blatant un-sportsman like conduct in the pits.

Spencer Braley gets his second win of the season in the Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders leading Gregory Crews and Blake Buccellato to victory lane. A post-race inspection would disqualify Buccellato, moving Tyler Byam up to third. Travis King and Cary Hunter would round out the top five in feature one. I feature two Kevin LaForest beats out Jason Porter for the win with Logan martin joining them in third. Devon Spinks last week’s feature winner comes home fourth with Jon LaForest completing the top five.

The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England were in the house for their next to last event of the season. Will Hull’s luck would end early after a hot lap mishap took him out for the night. Clay Dow with his second row starting spot and Hull’s misfortune saw him in a position he hadn’t been in in a while. Jacob Williams thought he had this one in the bag starting from the pole, but Dow had other thoughts in mind. When the checkers waved on their twenty-five lap main event it was a photo finish with Dow getting Williams at the line for the win. Chris Donnelly crossed the line in third behind the duo. Scott Holcomb and Doug McPhail rounded out the top five. The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England will make their last appearance at the Ridge on Saturday September 4th.

The Sting Vintage Race Cars 4/6 Cylinder Enduro 4th event of the season will be on 9/4/2021.

Coming up this Saturday August 28th sponsored by Dead River Co. the nights activities will feature the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds, DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes, USAC DMA Midgets; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks, and Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders.
