Caraway Speedway to “bookend” 2022 CARS Tour Schedule
“Old North State Nationals” and “North-South Shootout” Highlight Caraway Schedule
(Sophia, NC): When the CARS Tour announced their 2022 season schedule, there were some eye-popping changes announced. New venues dot the schedule but perhaps the most notable change is the addition of the “Old North State Nationals” and the “North-South Shootout” as events that open and close the schedule for the touring Late Model Stock Cars.
“We had a successful CARS Tour LMSC event last May when the series made it’s first visit to Caraway,” said Caraway speedway Promoter, Darren Hackett.” Jack McNelly and his team have built the series into the “premier” LMSC events in the Carolinas and Virginia and to have them at Caraway Speedway really added to our schedule in 2021”, Hackett said.
“We were blown away at our meeting in late August to discuss the 2022 schedule when both parties came together and developed the idea of possibly holding the “Old North State Nationals” at Caraway”, said Randy Myers. “I worked for Jack for several seasons with the old “ProCup series and could not be happier for Darren and Jack to come to this agreement. Having the Late Model Stock Cars and the Pro Late Models as a “stand-alone” to kick off the CARS Tour season is also a great for our early-season schedule.
Also, the chance to put together the CARS Tour Championship Night for their two divisions along with the 20th Annual John Blewett Memorial North-South Shootout in Memory of Charles Kepley, gives area fans something to look forward to. I see fans on social media clamoring for the old double-header events from Martinsville or the triple-header weekends from North Wilkesboro. This event will give them everything they have been asking for. 150 lappers for the LMSC’s and Mods and another 100 laps for the Pro Late Models will give race fans all the action they can handle at the same event. I can’t wait!” Myers said.
The “Old North State Nationals” is set for March 12th and 13th at Caraway Speedway and the 20th Annual “John Blewett Memorial North-South Shootout in Memory of Charles Kepley is scheduled for November 3rd through 5th, 2022.
