Caraway Speedway Wraps Up Racing Season on November 28th

Russell Hackett’s 35th Annual Thanksgiving Classic Ends Racing Season; Car Show and Drifting Events Coming in December

(Sophia, NC):  Caraway Speedway wraps up the 2021 racing season this Sunday afternoon, November 28th, at the .455 mile asphalt track near Asheboro, NC.

Russell Hackett’s Annual “Thanksgiving Classic” has closed the season at Caraway Speedway for 34 seasons and this year’s event does the same. The event has evolved through the years but always ends the season is style.

On tap this weekend is a 75 lapper for the Limited Late Models/Challengers with the overall winner taking home a cool grand and trophy and the highest finishing Challenger driver adding $250.00 and a winner’s trophy to the regular purse.

Also on the schedule is the 50 Lap “Archie Sanders Memorial for the Mini Stocks. Archie Sanders was the father of Mini Stock “King.” A.J. Sanders and was a regular at all the area tracks. The “Archie Sanders Memorial” was originally scheduled with the “Mischa Sell Memorial” in October. The Mini Stocks will also have an 11 Lap “Archie Dash” for non-winners in the division.

A 50 lap Street stock feature utilizing Mid-Atlantic Street Stock (MASS) rules is also on the schedule along with a 25 lapper for the tracks regular UCAR division with another 50 laps scheduled for the Enduro/Any Cars.

In December, the Eight6ix Racing Development group rolls in on December 4th with a car and truck show, a slide pit, Food Trucks, Vendors, Raffles and Prizes. Stay tuned for more info on this event.

On December 18th, 336Meets swings into the speedway for an evening of drifting, food and drinks. Bring your own car and participate.
