J.P. Sicard Tiger Triple Crown and NELCAR Kick Off 30th WMMP Season

N. Woodstock, NH — Following last week’s cancellation due to weather, tomorrow’s opening round of the J.P. Sicard Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series will serve as the headline event for the 30th Season Opener at White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP). The big seven-division line-up also includes the visiting NELCAR Tour Legends and Bandoleros.

With a new Triple Crown tire rule in place for teams from WMMP sister track Thunder Road, allowing two additional tires to be placed in their limited inventory, entries are expected to jump to new heights.

In three years of Triple Crown competition, only one White Mountain Flying Tiger team has claimed the trifecta trophy, doing it in dominating fashion. Shane Sicard not only kept the Crown at home in 2021 but did so by winning all three extra distance races! Previously, Thunder Road invaders Jason Woodard and Jaden Perry took the top honors, in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

All three former Triple Crown champions are expected, as are the three-car Potter family of former White Mountain Champion Michael Potter, Rookie contender Chandler and veteran Matt. Tanner Woodard and fellow Vermonters Cooper French, Kyle Streeter, and Kaiden Fisher are also seeking some season-opening glory.

Alongside the 75-lap Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tiger event, the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models are poised to start their season as are the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis, Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division. The GoMotorsportsShop.com NELCAR Tour will also be in town with their Legends and Bandolero divisions. Pit gates open at 1:00pm, practice beginning at 3:00pm with a 6:00pm Post Time. A tribute to the late Teri Avery will begin at 5:40pm. General Admission pricing is $12 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

All General Admission tickets and Pit Passes from the May 14th rainout will be honored this Saturday, May 21st. You must bring your ticket stub or pit pass to be honored.
