Wenzel extends point lead by winning at Monadnock

WINCHESTER, NH-  Tim Wenzel took down the win in the 50 lap Teddy Pools and Spas Triple Crown Street Stock race on Saturday night at the Monadnock Speedway.  Keith Johnson won the Triple Crown Championship.  George Baldwin led the field to the green. The red flag would come out in the beginning of the event as there was a huge pileup in the frontstretch involving Tommy and Mike O’Sullivan and defending NHSTRA Battle Of the Belt Street Stock champion Justin Beecher.  Wenzel would take the lead from Baldwin on lap 18 after starting in sixth place.  Baldwin’s night would come to an end on lap 22 as his car went up in smoke. Wenzel would lead the rest of the way and win the 50 lap race.  Christopher Buffone would finish in second.  Keith Johnson finished in third. David Greenslit finished in fourth and Geoff Rollins rounded out the top five.

Cole Littlewood won the Late Model Sportsman race. Gordon Farnum won the Mini Stock race. Steve Miller, Sr won the Six Shooters race while Traver Michaud won the Young Guns race.

 

Monadnock Speedway will return to action tomorrow night as the 350 SMAC (Supermodified Atlantic Charter) will race at Maddog for the first time.   The NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly series divisions will also be in action with the NHSTRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks,  Pure Stocks, and Young Guns.  The event will begin at 6:00 p.m.
