Friday Night Fun: Northeastern Supply Presents Return of URC Sprint Cars to Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, DE – Friday night fun!

Northeastern Supply presents the return of the United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars and a complete show of stock car racing this Friday night, September 9 at the historic Georgetown Speedway.

For the first time in 2022, the winged 360 Sprint Cars will soar around the half-mile oval, led to Delaware by point leader Jason Shultz of Carlisle, Pa. Six different drivers have registered URC Sprint Car victories in 13 events contested this season.

The J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds return to Georgetown for the second time in 10 days following the ‘Blast at the Beach’ run on Aug. 31. Modifieds compete for $3,000 to win in a 25-lap feature.

Jordan Watson of Milford, Del., paces the Sunoco Championship Series for the Modifieds after four events. He leads Pennsylvania’s Danny Bouc by 19 points.

First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models compete for 20 laps with $1,000 going to the winner. Two events have been held for the RUSH competitors at Georgetown this season.

Completing the program are Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstand gates unlock at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Adult admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids (ages 9-12) pay $10. Children 8 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12), $5 for Children ages 2 and under. No license is required.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
