School Bus Demolition Derby to Bring Riverhead Raceway House Down July 15th

Riverhead, NY July 7th — Full fender racing fury will be on full display during the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series event set for July 15th at Riverhead Raceway. Once the stock cars are done thrilling the fans the house is sure to come down when the first School Bus Demolition Derby closes out the night’s festivities.

With the NASCAR Modifieds starting a two-week summer break and the Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modifieds off as well, the Super Pro Trucks and Street Stocks will headline the racing portion of the card. Both classes will contest their second Miller Lite Triple Crown Series events of 2023 in 30-lap main events. The Mini Stocks see Saturday night action with a 20-lap feature scheduled for Saturday.

The driving stars of tomorrow will be on full display with the Bock Auto INEX Bandolero Bandits & Outlaws in action. Each division will race 15-lap main events. During the program track management has announced an autograph session featuring the drivers of the Bock Auto Bandoleros will be presented. The session will take place in the turn three midway of Riverhead Raceway. It’s a golden opportunity for kids to get autographs from kids their own age, or younger who actually compete on the quarter-mile oval.

Completing the left turn racing action is a 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go Enduro providing wall-to-wall racing excitement where anything can, and usually does happen.

Once the dance floor has been cleared, the 13-ton School Buses will roll to the track. Once the green flag waves the sight of these huge machines crashing is only outdone by the thunderous sounds that fill the night air. Drivers like “The Punisher” Paul Fox, “Kev-O” Kevin Rommeney, and Cheesebox” Michael Rommeney are just a few of the School Bus daredevils who’ll see action.

Qualifying is set for 5:30 pm, opening ceremonies are set for 6:30 pm. Spectator gates open at 4:00 pm, adults $30, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under free.
