Caraway Speedway Opens for 59th Season March 9th & 10th

Carolina Pro Late Models Headline Saturday Action; SMART Modified “Warrior 100” and late Model Stock Cars Head Sunday Card

(Sophia, NC):  When Caraway Speedway opens the gates for the 59th season of racing, the “old girl” will have a fresh look for the fans. The wooden front stretch grandstands have been replaced with aluminum seating as part of the on-going update of the track.  Updating the lighting and some new asphalt are in the pipeline along with completing the turn four VIP booth and a new spotters stand.  Those new seats are just waiting for race fans to fill them for the “Warrior Weekend” next Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s action will see the Carolina Pro Late Model Tour headline the action along with the track’s support divisions.  The CPLM cars are Super Late Models with some engine restrictions and always put on a great show. The Pro Late Models will have a 100 lapper on the schedule.   Entries will be posted when released by CPLM.

In addition to the Pro Late Models, the Caraway Speedway Challengers will be in action for 35 laps along with the “new” Mod 4’s (Mini Stocks), UCARS and the Bootleggers.

Sunday afternoons racing will feature a 100 lap season opener for the Late Model Stock Cars that will be the ‘feature” division at the track for the 2024 season.  The track has adopted the 2024 NASCAR Rule Book that will put area teams on equal footing when competing at Caraway. Also in action will be the 602 Modifieds going for 40 laps in a $1,000.00 to win affair and the Carolina USAC Midgets for a special shoe to kick off their 2024 season.

Gates open at 3:00 PM on Saturday and racing begins at 5:00 PM.

The SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic highlights the afternoon of racing with their second 2024 event.  Carson Loftin, winner of the “Peanut Patch 99” Saturday at Florence Motor Speedway, headlines an entry list that includes 3-time and defending SMART Champion, Burt Myers and his brother Jason, Daytona 500 Champion, Ryan Newman, Brian Loftin, Danny Bohn, Luke Balwin, Tom Buzze, Matt Hirschman, Joey Coulter, Gary Putnam, Brandon Ward and several more in the “Warrior 100”.  A field of 25 “Tour Type” Modifieds are expected to take the green flag Sunday Afternoon.

Grandstands open at Noon on Sunday and racing begins at 2:00 PM
