Joseph “Joe” P. Lanou, 43, of Claremont, NH passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Claremont, NH on May 25, 1980, to James P. and Sandra Lanou.He attended schools in Bellows Falls, VT, and Claremont, NH, graduating from Stevens High School.

Joe loved racing and anything to do with cars. He could make his way around any garage. He was always willing to lend a hand.

He could be found helping his dad on almost any project. Building and driving race cars were his ultimate passion. Together with his dad, brothers, Jamie and Steven, and sister, Jackie, he could be found at Claremont Speedway any Friday or Saturday night.Joe worked at several machine shops in the area. He also detailed cars at a few dealerships. Most recently he worked at General Auto Salvage.

Joe was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Lanou; his sister, Michelle Leitgeb; his paternal grandparents, Henry and Flora Lanou, his maternal grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Leitgeb.

His surviving family includes his father, James “Jim” P. Lanou, and stepmother, Sherry Fleury Lanou; brothers, Steven Lanou (Heather) and Jamie Lanou (Bethany), his sister, Jaclyn Lanou. His children, Jonathan Lanou, JoLynn Lanou, and Autumn Lanou, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on March 22nd from 5-7PM.
