SOUTH BOSTON, VA……South Boston Speedway officials have changed the track’s scheduled Saturday, April 20 event from a night event to an afternoon event. With the change the Viny’s Italian Restaurant & Italian Delight Family Restaurant Race Day event is set for a 2 p.m. start.

Track officials noted that the change was made to avoid a conflict with a CARS Tour event scheduled for that night at Orange County Speedway and give area racing fans the opportunity to attend both events.

“We want our great fans to have the opportunity to experience a full day of racing here in the area,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Brandon Brown. “We all have to work together to make that happen, and making our event into a Saturday daytime race just made sense for everyone. We hope to see everyone here on Saturday afternoon, April 20 for the Viny’s Italian Restaurant & Italian Delight Family Restaurant Race Day. It’s going to be a great show.”

The Viny’s Italian Restaurant & Italian Delight Family Restaurant Race Day event will be headlined by a 100-lap race for the Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car Division. The Budweiser Limited Sportsman Division competitors will compete in their first double-race event of the season with double 30-lap races set for the division.

A 25-lap race for the Southside Disposal Pure Stock Division and a 20-lap race for the Virginia State Police HEAT Hornets Division are also slated that afternoon. In addition, the regional touring East Coast Flathead Fords Racing Association will make its annual stop at South Boston Speedway for the event.

Advance tickets for the Viny’s Italian Restaurant & Italian Delight Family Restaurant Race Day event are priced at $12 each. Tickets may be purchased online on South Boston Speedway’s website, www.southbostonspeedway.com, or by calling the speedway office at 434-572-4947 or toll-free at 1-877-440-1540 during regular business hours.
